Sweet Glazed Potatoes (Print Version)

Thin sweet potato slices baked with maple, cinnamon, and butter until sticky, golden-brown, and tender. A holiday classic with southern flair.

# Ingredients:

01 - Slice 4 big sweet potatoes into rounds after peeling.
02 - Melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter.
03 - Use 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar.
04 - 1/4 cup of plain white sugar.
05 - Add 1/4 cup maple syrup.
06 - 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon for flavor.
07 - Sprinkle 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg.
08 - Toss in 1/4 tsp salt.
09 - Pour in 1 tsp vanilla extract.

# Directions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F to warm up.
02 - Layer the potato rounds in a dish suitable for baking.
03 - In a bowl, combine the butter, both sugars, syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla.
04 - Drizzle the prepared mixture over the potatoes and give it a good toss.
05 - Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes to soften.
06 - Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes till bubbling and tender.
07 - Let it cool down a bit before digging in.

# Notes:

01 - Cut all slices evenly thick.
02 - You can make this up to two days ahead.
03 - The sauce will firm up as it cools.
04 - Best results come with red-skinned sweet potatoes.
05 - Stick to slicing about 1/2 inch thick for great texture.
