Glazed Berry Pie (Print Version)

An eye-catching pie packed with juicy berries in a shiny homemade topping, all wrapped in a tender crust. Great during berry season.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 ready-to-use pie crust.
02 - About 1 and a half pounds of ripe strawberries, cleaned and split in half.
03 - 1 cup of white sugar.
04 - 3 tablespoons of cornstarch powder.
05 - Half a cup of water.
06 - A tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
07 - Optional: whipped cream to add on top.

# Directions:

01 - Spread a layer of halved strawberries inside your pie crust.
02 - Mix the rest of the strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice in a pot. Gently crush them with a spoon or masher.
03 - Put the pot on medium heat, stirring the whole time. Once it starts bubbling, keep cooking until it's thick enough (takes around 3-5 minutes).
04 - Turn off the heat and set the mixture aside for about 5 minutes to cool down a bit.
05 - Pour the slightly warm glaze over the strawberries in the pie crust.
06 - Put it in the refrigerator and leave it there for a good 4 hours so it sets nicely.
07 - Add whipped cream on top, if you want, just before digging in.

# Notes:

01 - This fruity dish is perfect for warm days. The best time to make it is when strawberries are at their sweetest!
