Rich Chocolate Bars (Print Version)

Thick chocolate bars with a soft, fudgy texture. Packed with nuts and gooey chocolate bits, they’re great for anyone who loves chocolate.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
02 - 1 teaspoon baking powder.
03 - 1 cup (120g) optional chopped almonds or walnuts.
04 - 1 cup (250g) flour for all uses.
05 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
06 - 1 cup (200g) butter that's unsalted.
07 - 2 cups (400g) white sugar.
08 - 1 cup (250g) semi-sweet chocolate chips.

# Directions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F and get an 8x8 pan ready with some parchment paper lining it.
02 - Whip the sugar and butter together until they're fluffy and light in color.
03 - Stir the vanilla extract into the creamed mix.
04 - Mix together salt, baking powder, and flour in a separate bowl.
05 - Add the dry stuff to the wet mix little by little, and stop as soon as it comes together.
06 - Gently mix in the nuts (if you're using them) and chocolate chips.
07 - Push the mix into the lined pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, watching for golden edges.
08 - Let it cool all the way before slicing it up.

01 - Keep mixing to a minimum.
02 - Swap in any type of chocolate chips.
03 - The middle continues to set while cooling.
04 - Good for 5 days at room temperature.
05 - Freeze for up to 3 months if needed.
