Sweet Holiday Chocolates (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 sticks (1 cup) of room-temperature unsalted butter.
02 - Half a cup of powdered sugar, plus a bit more for rolling later.
03 - A teaspoon of vanilla extract.
04 - One and three-quarters cups of plain flour.
05 - Quarter cup of cocoa powder that's unsweetened.
06 - Half a teaspoon of table salt.
07 - About a cup of finely chopped walnuts or pecans, if you prefer.
08 - Half a cup of small chocolate chips, if you'd like.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F and cover your baking sheets with parchment paper.
02 - Cream together the butter and sugar until it looks fluffy, then stir in the vanilla.
03 - Combine the flour, cocoa, and salt in a bowl, then mix this into the creamed butter mixture.
04 - If using, gently fold in the nuts and chocolate chips.
05 - Scoop out dough by tablespoonfuls, roll into balls, and place them an inch apart on the lined sheets.
06 - Pop them in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until the bottoms are just starting to brown and the edges firm up.
07 - Cool cookies for about 5 minutes, then while still warm, roll them in powdered sugar.
08 - Once they've cooled off completely, roll them again in the powdered sugar for a nice coating.

# Notes:

01 - Using high-quality butter makes these taste amazing.
02 - Don’t bake too long or you’ll lose the soft texture.
03 - Rolling the cookies in sugar twice gives them the best finish.
