Smoked Salmon Tart (Print Version)

Flaky puff pastry loaded with smoked salmon and smooth cream cheese, shaped like a star.

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 6 ounces of smoked salmon
02 - 2 pre-made puff pastry sheets
03 - 2/3 cup of soft cream cheese

→ Seasonings

04 - 16 chopped chive stems
05 - 1 diced shallot
06 - A pinch of black pepper (about 1/4 tsp)

→ Topping

07 - 1 spoon of milk (1 tbsp)
08 - 1 egg yolk
09 - 1 spoonful of poppy seeds (1 tbsp)

# Directions:

01 - Dice the shallot, mix it with cream cheese, chives, and pepper. Use a cutter to shape pastry into large circles about 12 inches wide.
02 - Layer the filling evenly over one pastry round, add the salmon on top. Place the second pastry round over everything.
03 - Slice 16 strips starting from the center outward, twist each piece. Add a small hole in the middle for steam to escape.
04 - Brush with the egg mix, sprinkle the poppy seeds all over. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes, until golden brown.
