Lamb Meatballs Mediterranean Style (Print Version)

Juicy lamb meatballs with feta and herbs, fried until golden and paired with creamy tzatziki for dipping.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb ground lamb
02 - 1 egg
03 - 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, unseasoned
04 - 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
05 - 1 large garlic clove, minced
06 - 1 small yellow onion, grated into a mash
07 - 2 teaspoons dried mint
08 - 1 teaspoon cumin
09 - 1 teaspoon coriander
10 - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
11 - 3/4 teaspoon salt
12 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
13 - Tzatziki sauce, for dipping

# Directions:

01 - Mix ground lamb, egg, breadcrumbs, feta cheese, garlic, onion, mint, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl until well combined.
02 - Use a mini ice cream scoop to portion approximately 1 oz of lamb mixture into your hands and roll into smooth balls. Wet your hands to prevent sticking.
03 - Heat 1/4 to 1/2 inch of oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
04 - Add the meatballs to the pan and cook, turning every 2–3 minutes, until browned on all sides and the internal temperature reaches 145℉. Avoid overcooking to maintain moisture.
05 - Place cooked meatballs on a wire rack or paper towels to remove excess oil.
06 - Serve the meatballs with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, or your preferred drizzling sauce.

# Notes:

01 - Grate the onion into a mash using a grater or food processor for a smoother texture.
02 - Fresh dill or mint can be added for additional flavor.
