Cheesy Spicy Grits (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 2 and a half cups water
02 - 2/3 cup rich, heavy cream
03 - 2/3 cup quick-cooking grits

→ Add-ins

04 - A tablespoon of butter
05 - One cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
06 - Two jalapeños, seeded and diced nice and small
07 - Salt and pepper, adjusted to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Cook the diced jalapeños in the butter on medium heat until they soften up—it’ll take about 2 to 3 minutes.
02 - Pour the water and cream into a saucepan, and bring it up to a boil.
03 - Mix in the grits and cheese, then let it simmer for 5 to 7 minutes or until the texture’s smooth and tender.
04 - Season it how you like with salt and pepper, then top it off with some extra jalapeños and cheese.
