Christmas Candy Gumdrops (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1⅓ cups of plain applesauce.
02 - 2 envelopes of plain gelatin (such as Knox).
03 - 6 ounces of flavored Jello (cherry or lime).
04 - 2½ cups of granulated sugar, kept apart.

# Instructions:

01 - Coat a baking dish (9x13 or 11x7) with cooking spray.
02 - In a big pot, stir 2 cups of sugar along with other ingredients, then let it sit for a bit.
03 - With steady stirring on medium heat, bring to a boil.
04 - After it boils, continue heating for one minute and then pour into your prepped pan.
05 - Leave it to cool on the counter for around 15 minutes.
06 - Pop it in the fridge for 3 hours until it sets well.
07 - Line a cutting board with some parchment and sprinkle sugar on top.
08 - Use a metal spatula to separate the gel from the pan and place it on your cutting board.
09 - Use small cookie cutters to carve out shapes.
10 - Leave the cut pieces out overnight—at least 8 hours.
11 - Roll each piece in the leftover sugar until it’s covered nicely.

# Notes:

01 - To get both green and red candies, use two different batches with cherry and lime Jello.
02 - Dip cookie cutters in warm water if cutting gets sticky.
03 - If you don’t have cookie cutters, use a knife or pizza cutter.
