Sweet Holiday Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup of softened butter.
02 - Half a cup of powdered sugar.
03 - A little less than 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint flavoring.
04 - 1 and 1/4 cups of plain flour.
05 - Half a cup of cornstarch.
06 - A pinch (1/4 teaspoon) of salt.
07 - 2 tablespoons of softened butter for topping.
08 - 1 and 1/2 cups of powdered sugar for the topping.
09 - 2 spoons of milk.
10 - 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract for topping.
11 - Red food coloring (a drop or two, optional).
12 - Broken peppermint candies for decorating.

# Instructions:

01 - Whip the butter with powdered sugar until soft and fluffy. Stir in the peppermint flavor.
02 - Sift together the flour, cornstarch, and salt. Slowly fold this mixture into the butter mix.
03 - Wrap the dough up and chill it in the fridge for at least half an hour.
04 - Set your oven to 350°F and let it heat up.
05 - Roll the dough into small 1-inch balls and space them 2 inches apart on baking trays.
06 - Pop them in the oven for 9-11 minutes until the bottoms are lightly golden.
07 - Combine butter with powdered sugar, slowly mix in milk, peppermint, and food coloring if you want color.
08 - Spread frosting on cooled cookies and decorate with crushed peppermints.
