Steak Crostini Horseradish (Print Version)

Crispy crostini paired with tender steak, luscious caramelized onions, and tangy horseradish spread.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 baguette, preferably a day old.
02 - 2 tablespoons of butter.
03 - 1/4 cup olive oil.
04 - 1 garlic clove, finely chopped.
05 - 1/4 teaspoon of sugar.
06 - Balsamic glaze for topping.
07 - 8 ounces of filet mignon steak.
08 - 2 tablespoons of steak seasoning mix.
09 - 1 cup of sour cream.
10 - 1/4 cup horseradish, prepared.
11 - 1 1/2 tablespoons of dijon mustard.
12 - 1 teaspoon of champagne vinegar.
13 - 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
14 - 1/2 tablespoon of chopped fresh chives.
15 - 1 onion, chopped small.

# Directions:

01 - Fire up the grill to 450°F. Coat the steak with seasoning. Let it cook 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare, aiming for 125°F inside. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
02 - Combine sour cream, horseradish, dijon, vinegar, Worcestershire, fresh chives, some salt, and a bit of black pepper.
03 - Cut baguette into slices. Spread the butter, oil, and garlic mix on them. Toast in the oven at 375°F for 5 minutes per side until crispy.
04 - Heat butter and oil in a pan. Toss in onions and cook for 15-20 minutes until golden. Mix in sugar and cook for about 3-4 more minutes.
05 - Take a toasted bread slice, spread sauce, lay steak slices, add onions, and finish with a dash of chives and balsamic glaze.
