Green Beans Roadhouse Style (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 (16-ounce) cans green beans, rinsed and drained
02 - 6 slices of bacon, cut into small pieces
03 - 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
04 - 1/2 cup chicken broth, low sodium
05 - 1/2 cup white onion, diced small

→ Seasonings

06 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
07 - 1 teaspoon sugar (granulated)
08 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
09 - 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
10 - 1/2 teaspoon regular salt

# Instructions:

01 - Put a big skillet on medium-high heat. Stir bacon bits often while cooking. Stop once it's golden and crispy in 5-6 minutes.
02 - Add diced onion to the skillet. Stir all around and let it soften for roughly 5 minutes.
03 - Toss in the green beans, broth, garlic, sugar, butter, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Give it a good stir to spread everything evenly.
04 - Turn the heat down low, cover the skillet, and let it cook. Stir every now and then until the beans are soft, about 10 minutes.
05 - Take a bite to check seasoning. Add a little more salt or pepper if you think it needs it, then dish it up warm.
