Grandma's Apple Pie (Print Version)

Buttery crust filled with sweet, cinnamon-coated apples. A comforting classic everyone loves.

# Ingredients:

01 - 6-7 medium apples, sliced thin after peeling.
02 - 1 cup white sugar.
03 - 2 tablespoons plain flour.
04 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder.
06 - 2 1/2 cups plain flour, for making the crust.
07 - 1 cup cold, cubed butter.
08 - 1 teaspoon table salt.
09 - 1/4–1/2 cup cold water (with ice).

# Directions:

01 - Set oven to 375°F. Toss apple slices with cinnamon, sugar, and flour.
02 - Blend flour and salt with butter until it looks crumbly. Slowly pour in ice water to form dough.
03 - Cut dough into two parts, wrap both, and let them cool in the fridge for 30 minutes.
04 - Roll out the first crust and place in the pie pan. Add filling. Cover with top crust, crimp sides, and cut openings.
05 - Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden and bubbling. Let it rest for half an hour before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Using a mix of apple types adds depth to the taste.
02 - Sprinkling sugar on the top crust can sweeten it up.
03 - Pairs well with a scoop of ice cream.
