Golden Rice Bites (Print Version)

Crispy golden rice bites from sushi rice. Perfect as a snack or a base for toppings.

# Ingredients:

→ Base - Rice

01 - 1 tsp salt
02 - 1 ¼ cups water
03 - 1 cup sushi rice

→ Flavoring

04 - 2 tsp sugar (white)
05 - 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar

→ Cooking Oil

06 - ½ cup olive oil

→ Extras

07 - Furikake or sesame seeds (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Wash rice until water is clear. Cook with the salt and water, then cover and let it sit for 10 mins.
02 - Combine sugar and vinegar, then mix it into the warm rice.
03 - Line an 8x8 pan, press rice mix firmly inside, and chill for about an hour.
04 - Divide into small squares. Coat them in sesame seeds if you like.
05 - In hot oil, fry both sides for roughly 3–4 mins until golden and crunchy.

# Notes:

01 - Use sushi rice for the best results.
02 - Can make this the night before.
03 - Stays fresh in the fridge for two days.
