Italian Fried Rice (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Core Components

01 - 1 egg
02 - 1 cup halloumi, diced
03 - 3 cups cold long grain rice (stored in fridge for at least a day)
04 - 3 slices rosemary ham, chopped
05 - 3 slices mortadella, chopped up
06 - 3 slices salami, chopped small
07 - 1/2 small onion, chopped small

→ Veggies and Fresh Additions

08 - 1/4 cup roasted red peppers, diced
09 - 1/4 cup banana peppers, chopped small
10 - Chopped romaine as a topping
11 - 1/4 cup basil, chopped

→ Oils and Flavors

12 - Cooking olive oil
13 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
14 - 2 tablespoons sesame oil
15 - 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, extra for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Warm some olive oil in your skillet on high heat. Cook the onion for five minutes, then add the halloumi and keep cooking for another five minutes, stirring, until the pieces get golden edges.
02 - Stir in the chopped meats. Let them brown slightly, cooking for about 3 to 5 minutes.
03 - Toss in the rice. Stir it occasionally for five minutes to heat it up and blend with the flavors.
04 - Create a small cleared area in the skillet, crack in the egg, scramble it quickly, and then combine it back with the rice mix.
05 - Add the rest of the ingredients and stir everything together. Give it five more minutes of cooking time, then serve with chopped lettuce and a drizzle of balsamic.

# Notes:

01 - Day-old rice works best texture-wise.
02 - Feel free to switch up the Italian meats for others you prefer.
03 - A handy dish for using up leftover rice!
