Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a dish measuring 9x13 inches.

Mix together sour cream, chicken soup, melted butter, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a big bowl.

In the baking dish, spread a layer with half the potato slices. Add half of the sausage slices and sprinkle on half the onion. Cover with half the sauce mixture and then sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese.

Repeat the process with the other half of the potatoes, sausage, onion, sauce mixture, and cheese.

Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and pop it in the oven for 40 minutes.

After removing the foil, continue baking for another 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese bubbles and the potatoes soften.

For a fancy touch, sprinkle parsley on top before serving warm.
