Buttery garlic bread topped with savory joe mixture and gooey, melted cheese. A cozy combo everyone loves.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 French bread loaf, split open horizontally.
02 - Salt and pepper, for seasoning.
03 - 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped.
04 - 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley.
05 - 1 lb of ground beef or turkey, your choice.
06 - 1 green bell pepper, minced.
07 - 2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella.
08 - 1/4 cup of ketchup.
09 - 3/4 cup tomato sauce.
10 - 1 teaspoon of chili powder.
11 - 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce.
12 - 1 small onion, diced into small pieces.
13 - 1 tablespoon of brown sugar.
14 - 4 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter.

# Directions:

01 - Set your oven to 400°F. Cover your baking pan with parchment paper.
02 - In a skillet, cook the ground meat and drain out the grease. Toss in diced onion, bell pepper, and chopped garlic. Stir and cook for 3-4 minutes.
03 - Pour in ketchup, tomato sauce, Worcestershire, sugar, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer gently for about 5-10 minutes.
04 - Combine parsley, melted butter, and minced garlic in a small bowl. Coat the interior of the bread halves with this mix.
05 - Spoon the sloppy joe mix over the bread halves, then sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
06 - Slide the bread onto the baking tray and bake for 8-10 minutes. Take it out once the cheese is fully melted and the edges are golden.
07 - Give it a moment to cool off slightly, then slice and serve.

# Notes:

01 - You can make the meat filling the day before.
02 - Sturdy bread works best to keep things from getting too soft.
03 - Filling freezes well on its own.
04 - Combining a couple of cheeses makes it tastier.
05 - Feel free to toast the bread first if you'd like.
