Boiled Corn on the Cob (Print Version)

Corn simmered with milk, butter, garlic, and chives. Sweet, tender, and perfect as a quick summer side.

# Ingredients:

→ Corn Preparation

01 - 4 cups water
02 - 3 cloves garlic, halved
03 - Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
04 - 2 cups whole milk
05 - ½ cup unsalted butter, cubed
06 - ¼ cup brown sugar
07 - 6 ears corn, husks removed and halved
08 - 3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

# Directions:

01 - Combine 4 cups water, garlic, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper in a large stockpot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
02 - Stir in milk, butter, and brown sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil.
03 - Carefully add the halved corn cobs. Reduce heat and simmer until the corn is just tender, approximately 6–10 minutes.
04 - Serve the corn immediately, garnished with fresh chives if desired.
