Fun Monster Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Dough

01 - 3 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - Blue food coloring (optional)
05 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
06 - 2 large eggs
07 - ¾ cup granulated sugar
08 - 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
09 - 1 cup butter, softened (but not mushy)

→ Added Treats

10 - ¾ cup milk chocolate chunks or pieces of a milk chocolate bar
11 - ¾ cup small Oreo chunks (roughly 10 cookies)
12 - ½ cup white chocolate chips
13 - ¾ cup mini chocolate chip cookies, crumbled (try Famous Amos or Chips Ahoy)
14 - ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips

→ Extra Garnishes

15 - Additional Oreo bits
16 - Extra chopped mini chocolate chip cookies
17 - Extra semisweet chocolate chips
18 - Additional white chocolate chips

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 350°F. Combine the butter with both sugars in a large mixing bowl and whip them together for 1 minute until the texture looks smooth and mixed.
02 - Drop in the eggs and the vanilla extract. Keep beating the mixture for 3 minutes until it turns fluffy and pale. Then, add a few drops of blue food coloring to reach the shade you’re going for—bright blue works best for that fun Cookie Monster vibe!
03 - Add the salt, baking powder, and flour into the bowl. Stir only until everything is barely mixed—no streaks of flour should be visible. Don’t overwork the dough!
04 - Carefully stir in the semisweet chocolate chips, Oreos, mini cookies, and white chocolate chips. If it feels too wet or sticky, stick it in the fridge for 30 minutes before moving on.
05 - Scoop 2 tablespoons of dough and press it flat. Place a couple of chocolate pieces or discs in the center, wrap the dough fully around the chocolate, and top it all off with another 2 tablespoons of dough to secure it.
06 - Push a few extra toppings (like more chocolate chips and cookie bits) into the tops of each dough ball for a fun, finished look.
07 - Line your baking tray with parchment or use a silicone mat, then space the cookies out generously to give them room to spread. Bake for about 10-12 minutes and let them sit on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.

# Notes:

01 - Famous Amos is the best choice for crispy cookie chunks, but mini Chips Ahoy can work too.
02 - These spread quite a bit while baking, so leave enough space between each one.
03 - Don’t wait for the centers to look fully baked—they’ll finish setting as they cool on the tray.
