Cabbage Beef Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 3 cups chopped cabbage
02 - 1 cup steamed rice
03 - 1 medium onion, diced
04 - 1 pound of ground beef
05 - 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with juice
06 - 1/2 cup beef stock

→ Seasonings

07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
09 - 1 teaspoon salt

→ Topping

10 - 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch pan with butter or cooking spray so nothing sticks.
02 - Heat a big pan over medium. Cook the ground beef and diced onion for about 5-7 minutes, stirring now and then, until the meat is browned and the onions soften. Pour off the extra grease.
03 - Add garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the skillet with the beef mixture and stir until it's evenly seasoned.
04 - Spread half of the chopped cabbage at the bottom of your greased dish. Then layer the beef mixture on top, add the steamed rice evenly, and pour the canned tomatoes (don't drain them) over the rice.
05 - Place the rest of the cabbage on top and pour over the beef stock. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes in the oven.
06 - Take off the foil, sprinkle the cheddar cheese all over, and bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts and gets bubbly.

# Notes:

01 - You could use ground turkey instead to make it a bit healthier.
02 - Feel free to switch cheddar cheese with another type like mozzarella or Monterey Jack.
03 - Prep ahead and store it in the fridge before baking if you're short on time.
04 - Store leftovers in a sealed container in your fridge for up to 3 days.
